Invisible, Imaginary friend!

A person gets all weird imagination and thoughts when he/she is either in a too good mood or when he/she is in a too bad mood. Few days ago while i was really in a bad mood and i got into my room i was thinking how good it will be if i have a person to share things that bothered me. Because not always you feel like sharing things that puts you off with everyone or even anyone at all. And also not always people are really free or ready to listen to your sorrows.

May be considering the comfort factor it would be great, if you have a friend who is invisible to others and visible only to you and who doesn't really exist at all.

What difference does it make from a reality friend???
  • You can vanish away the imaginary friend when you don't want him/her.
  • Imaginary friend will be always available for you.
  • He/She can be as nice as you want and never hurts/annoys you.
  • You have the liberty to choose the gender, the looks- height and weight, the complexion etc ;)
Clarifications
  • I don't mean devilish or any satanic effects
  • I don't mean to develop any psychological problem. Researchers have proved that it creates positive effect on a person and it need not be considered as a problem.
  • I don't refer to talking alone rather imagining someone is with you and you really don't utter words but still communicate with your imaginary, invisible friend.
"Researchers have estimated that as many as 65 per cent of children have had an imaginary companion at some point.

But it is not just children who converse with invisible companions. Explorer Dave Mill created his imaginary friend Nobody at the age of 34 as a survival mechanism during a solo walk to the North Pole." as said by one of the researcher.

So who is your imaginary, invisible friend? Have you had any in your child hood? If not create one soon and let me know who it is ;) *winks*

here i have to comment.

everyone is slightly schizophrenic is my firm belief.there is a reluctance and insecurity to open up to real people which is what leads to such other means of sharing.some write diary, some write poems, some stories..all outlets of emotions.

well written but looks like you didnt have enought time for a deeper analysis..i shall do so in my blog ;P

Though there might be Close or Best friends Im sure no one is sharing 100% including me who is a Open book [I can share anything even with a unknown stranger]. In that sense I totally agree with you on this imaginary character. Everyone might not have such imganiary character but im sure they would be talking to themselves, not literally talking but thinking to themselves. All that your post is saying is, give a picture to that imaginary sub conscious mind. There are hi-tech movies which show people having some technology that creates virutal person through lazer beam to whom we can talk something related to Aritificial Intelligence.

Sometime back I got a fwd mail with a exe attached. Whenever you type something it responds, asks yours name and gives some message. It would be crazy to say that i did chat with it for 10-15 mins. It is ofcourse like someone else chantting but after sometime you get used to the repeated comments.

This ofcourse presses the red alarm on psychological issues like split personality. But as long as you talk to this invisible imaginary person KNOWINGLY there are no issues :-D. And I know you are smart enough in giving the urls on researches before someone asks you "PK - is everything alright?"

Usually people develop imaginary friends when they start to dislike the real ones or lose faith in them or cant trust them. Schizophrenia or a split personality are part manifestation of this effect.

Well...if U dont consider online friendship as INVISIBLE, then I never had one for sure :-)

You cannot do this to a person who really exist. Its good in that sense!

//2. point to b noted " split personaliy" //

Its not that exactly, split personality is somthing tht u dont have control on..whereas this imagination you shoud have control on!

//3. you always hve the liberty abt looks height weight complexion etc ... of ur friend only problem is needs to b mutual ... //

Er.. How do u say that?
Say if X is my friend and i wish that person to be fat/lean or fair/dark. Changing these is not easier than imagining a friend of your choice.

//4 last but not the last who's urs ..hehe i know i am evil //

Basically, I don't believe in imaginary person, though I talk so much to myself than anyother person. I call it Talking-to-Self (others call me loosu :@)

You don't need a invisible / imaginary friend, if you believe in your friends around. Ultimately, the imaginary person will have few things which will again can be found in one or other friend of yours.

Try to take your friends as they come, it you who have chosen your friends unlike amma & appa. So you can always have a guy/ gal whom you are comfortable. True friend will always be available for you. Only thing is be open and approachable to him/her.

P.S.: This comment isn't personal, but on the post :)

Friends when we say has different "ends". To me, the best friend is one's self. Believe in what we do and how we do, we can be better off when tough situation arises.

Believe me or not, though i dont keep such friend i had the similar thought many times on many situations.

Yes, you can no way be dependent rather on a conditional circle!

You will always be allowed as you are! - This makes a difference and sense with this kinda virtual relations.

Keep going.
